We are happy to announce that DBS Inc. has a new logo!

It is with great pleasure and pride that we introduce to you the new logo for DBS Inc. We have updated our look with something that captures the spirit and energy of where we are moving as a company.

The new logo features a simple design, clean lines, and an updated version of our old logo. It was designed to keep our core logo concepts, but further advance our corporate identity. The original col
ors and fonts have stayed true to our brand ensuring that we are the same established corporation, with just a little more!

The updated logo and brand were also timed to facilitate our new social media campaign. We know many of you rely on our website to find answers, contact support and to review documents and training material. We now have more ways to reach our audience and to communicate today's mobile technology.

While we may have a new look, we haven't changed who we are. We are still your leading point of sale provider with better than expected service. As we build on our new initiative, we will continue to answer your questions through responsive service, expert support and attention to detail. We look forward to remaining a trusted partner to you and  your business and  a catalyst for retail/restaurant success.

  • ALERT!
The Heartbleed bug allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by the vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL software. This compromises the secret keys used to identify the service providers and to encrypt the traffic, the names and passwords of the users and the actual content. This allows attackers to eavesdrop on communications, steal data directly from the services and users and to impersonate services and users.

Some LogMeIn services and products rely on OpenSSL, including LogMeIn Pro and LogMeIn Free. Even though they did a full scan of their network infrastructure and did not detect any attacks, they have updated the LogMeIn host software to close the vulnerability. In addition, we recommend everyone change their LogMeIn passwords, just to be safe.

Roaming Raven, Newark, Delaware – Ashby Management
    http://www.theroamingraven.com/

Bob Ashby has a good business sense when it comes to hospitality. His Ashby Management Group has been successful with the McGlynns Pubs, Deer Park and Cantwell’s Tavern. They continue to expand in the region.

DBS supports the point of sale systems and Digital Dining software at all of the Ashby properties. When Bob decided to explore the merits of a mobile food truck he contacted DBS when it came to tracking sales, food cost and credit card processing remotely from the food truck.

Bob and his son, Marc, have an entirely different venture in 2014 and have added a twist to their hospitality offering.

Along comes the Roaming Raven.  This food truck was custom made off the chassis of a Freightliner truck. The intrepid traveling kitchen comes equipped with a DBS installed mobile tablet POS system, deep fryer and a flat top grill, refrigerator and freezer.

The installation of the Digital Dining Mobile HP Tablet will provide real time reporting and credit card processing via the mobile app. Although most items on the menu are priced around $5.00, the ability to accept credit cards gives them the flexibility to accept credit and debit cards in this cashless society. Look for a smart phone electronic mobile wallet soon!

Microsoft officially ended support for Windows XP SP3 on April 8th, 2014. This does mean you (as a merchant processing credit card transactions through your Point-of-Sale system) should take action, if you haven't already!

All merchants and any entity processing, transmitting or storing cardholder data are required by the card associations (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) and their acquiring banks to adhere to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). PCI DSS Requirements 6.1 and 6.2 address the need to keep systems up to date with security patches in order to protect systems from vulnerabilities. With the end-of-life to Windows XP, security patches may not be available and the requirements not met.

DBS and SolDel Concepts Provide Computers to Nicaragua School Foundation

The Barrio Planta Project is an education initiative created to empower low-income children and adults living in Nicaragua. Through supplementary schooling with an emphasis on English as a Second Language and the creative arts, BPP provides means for international communication and exposure to enriching cultural activities that enhance confidence and facilitate community. In 2012, DBS partnered with SoDel Concepts founder and philanthropist Matt Haley. The joint effort donated laptop computers to the faculty and administrators of the organization.

Since 2009 The BPP has been engaged in youth leadership programs and initiatives for the common good.
